From March, the Madrid underground will run on rails placed out of the capital, specifically in the towns of Rivas Vaciamadrid and Arganda del Rey, for the first time in its history. The 6000 model will be the new train that will run in this line 9, one of the longest one in the world.
The 6000 model will run on semiburied rails (" in ditch"), with a maximum velocity of 110 Km/h.
The Madrid Community has invested 17.000 millions of pesetas (more than 102 millions of euros) in the obtaining of 37 units of the new 6000 model, 25 built by CAF and 12 by Alsthom. These trains will run on rails in ditch (semiburied) with a velocity of 110 Km/h, higher that the whatever other actual model.
One of the big novelties of these models is its buffer that, in case of crash, impedes that the coaches were put on top. Likewise, the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) security system supervises all the actions of the driver. The minimum detected anomaly, lapse or similar thing provokes the connection of a mechanism that advises that something strange is happening.
Without leaving the security, the automatic driving ATD means, for example, that the train brakes in a progressive way when it goes near a curve or, if the one that is arriving is an ascending slope, it will can accelerate, to not to lose the velocity.

The approximate capacity of passengers is 200 in each coach, and the Madrid Community estimates foresee that nearly 20.000 passengers will use this service each day, with a passing frequency between twelve and fifteen minutes.
