ALSTOM EXPORTS ENGINES TO ISRAEL AND MEXICO

COSTA MARTINEZ

Alstom is building ten passenger diesel engines and eight commodity engines in its Albuixech factory (Valencia) for the Israel Railways. These new machines are included in the new family of electric diesel engines GA-3000 specially designed for the passenger and commodity transport with a velocity of 100 to 200 Km/h.

Alstom has present the new passenger and commodity engines to Israel in Valencia
and the shunting engines to Mexico.

These engines have a modular design that permits an easier fulfilment of arrangements that are adapted to the more exigent needs of the railway companies, with an easy maintenance and a big security and confort for the driving, with the hardest operation conditions.

These engines can be conceived as a light engines with a little weight in the axle, like the Bo-Bo, for the passengers transport with a high velocity or like the Co-Co, for the big commodities transport. The electric equipment is tested by a microprocessor EM 2000, that optimizes the lendings of the engine, specially the adherence.

Mexico is going to operate two new electric-diesel engines GA-DE 900 AR on its rails. This is the second generation of electric-diesel engines with asynchronized three-phased drive , similars to the 40 units delivered by the Albuixech factory in 1996 to the Swiss Railways (SBB). It is proyected to build three engines like these to the Israel Railways.

Alstom will build 30 diesel engines to Syria, 100 to Iran and 10 to Sri Lanka, assuring a big activity in the factory of the Valencian Community.
