RENFE AND THE POLITICAL SPEECH

The recovered importance of the railway, as a way of transport and symbol of the progress, is oposed to the inevitable politic of instrumentalization. This, in our country, where the nacionalisms are so important , where there are appearing alternative planns against the statal point of view.

It is obvious that the one who has like the main theme of his political discourse the statal structuralization of his community in terms of the autogovernment and independence, is talking about the possibility that the politic railway had its own land as the axel. In the same line, it is also logic, that some negociations and even pressure appeared to accomodate the statal politics to the local interests. But is is very sad that in relation to the inevitable link- even in the case of the independence- like it is the railway, the politics acted in an emotive and simbolic way.

As a result, it is worrying that in his propaganda for the last european elections, CIU has condemned to die to Renfe, although it is related to the creation of a new big european railway line. Everything seems to indicate that the accusations correspond more to the symbolic exercise to go against every manifestation of the statal spanish power than a real accusatio, but the programatic position of CIU appears in a moment of revolucionary changes in Renfe and appears after the high number of accusations and rumours about the hypotetic modifications of AVE Madrid-Barcelona to increase the interests of Cataluña to the detriment of the general interests.

Appart form the truth-or not- of the just mentioned accusations and rumours, CIU is trying to achieve a very dangerous objective and increase the suspicious.

The hypotetic creation of an european railway managed from Bruselas is an interesting idea, but it does not seem probable that nor a short or in a medium time the SNCF , the DB- not even Renfe- were broken up in benefits of a madro-rail...At these moment, talking about the desaparition of Renfe is, at least, an incongruence and something demagogic that can contribute to the increase of the pressure without, it seems, provoking any benefits for the one who says it in the glass cases.
