SALVEMOS EL FERROCARRIL DE THARSIS
La Diputación de Huelva ha clausurado, al menos de momento, el ferrocarril minero de Tharsis. Se trata de uno de los trenes de vía estrecha más antiguos de España, pues llevaba 128 años de funcionamiento ininterrumpido.
El ferrocarril minero de Tharsis ha transportado millones de toneladas y millares de pasajeros. Por eso, STOL quiere unirse a la iniciativa puesta en marcha por la Asociación de Amigos del Ferrocarril "Cuenca Minera de Riotinto" e invita a los lectores a enviar un e-mail de respetuosa protesta, tanto a la Diputación de Huelva como a la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía:

Como lector de la revista STOL, quiero manifestar mi preocupación por el cierre del ferrocarril minero de Tharsis. Espero que las autoridades resuelvan pronto este problema que, de no solucionarse rápidamente, puede acarrear la desaparición de una parte fundamental del patrimonio histórico-industrial de Huelva, Andalucía y España. Por eso, solicito la reapertura de dicha línea, que podría ser utilizada para fines turísticos, como ya sucede con el Ferrocarril de Ríotinto.
Huelva Country Council has temporarily closed the Tharsis mining railroad . It is one of the oldest trains with narrow stretch in Spain, because it has been travelling during 128 years.
This mining train has transported into its waggons millions of tons and thousands of travellers. As a result, STOL wants to support this initiative which has been begun by the Association of Railway's Friends "Riotinto Mining Valley" and invites all the readers to send an e-mail, protesting against it, to Huelva Country Council and to the Ministry of Culture in Andalusia Government:

As a STOL's reader, I want to show my worry because the closing of Tharsis mining railway. I wish that the authorities would solve as soon as possible this important problem which, if it isn't solved, it can mean the disappearence of an important part in the industrial-historical heritage in Huelva, Andalusia and Spain. Therefore, I ask for the reopening of this railway line which could be used as a tourist train, as it happens with Riotinto's train.
